CHOMP: Sharks of the Seven Seas

Senior Project

Originally a space combat game, the development team had a good sit-down and asked ourselves what we really wanted in a game. What we really wanted was to eat things. So now it's about sharks. Sharks and eating stuff.

The gamer plays the role of a shark out to take on the whole ocean. Development focus is on fun and comedic effect. This project is now completed, although we may make minor tweaks now and again.

DEVELOPMENT STATUS:
Updated June 30th, 2009
The project was completed.
We didn't get as far into the game as we wished for, but we climbed a huge mountain on the way. We built a game engine completely from scratch, built support software such as the Node Manager (Level Editor) and model parser, and employed new techniques such as a Behavior Tree and a Flocking Tree. Over all, we rank the project as highly successful. An up-to date executable will be made available in the near future.
